The independent game has received strong support among gamers and shows that the point-and-click genre is still alive and kicking. In fact, independent games of all genres continue to receive positive reviews and make strong sales among gamers, showing that it doesn’t take a huge team and millions of dollars in ads to make a game successful. And thanks to services like Steam Green Light and Kickstarter, independent developers are able to create buzz for their games on a tight bud


Phantom Dust is one of the many games being rebooted or remastered for current-gen consoles. With the lack of backwards compatibility on the devices, and the inability for players to outright purchase classic games like they could on last-gen consoles, it seems reboots and remasters will continue to grow in popularity. Hopefully, for Phantom Dust fans, there’s still hope the game will make its way to the Xbox

Seeing the cast of Arrow break out of their angsty brooding is always welcome (if, quite frankly, out of character considering the plot they're pulled directly out of). But as entertaining as the laughs or novel moments may be, they're fleeting. Fans are outright told to expect fireworks with a crossover, and while "Legends of Today" serves a larger purpose than the previous crossovers, we doubt fans were hoping the biggest payoff of seeing their heroes unite would be comedic rel
Plants vs. Zombies 2 already has 10 "premium plants" for a total cost of more than $30 altogether, tax included. And that's just plants. You can also pay for upgrades and in-game coins. To my knowledge, Plants vs. Zombies never went higher than $20 for the whole game, with no micro-transactions, so I can only assume PopCap is making a truckload off of this. Now I know people like to point out how less than 10 percent of people who play free-to-play games participate in micro-transactions. This makes it seem like the companies are doing what's best for the player by offering a portion of their game for free, while only making a small chunk of change on the side to get by. It's a compelling narrative that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. This number conveniently leaves out how much money they're actually making from those ten percent of people who want a full gaming experience.


The second runner-up in the BAFTA nominations race is Tearaway , which is impressive considering for a game only available on a mobile platform. Released on the PlayStation Vita and developed by Media Molecule, the studio behind the LittleBigPlanet games, Tearaway is set in a paper world that definitely seemed to charm the Academy, based on the eight nominations it received in categories such as Game Innovation, Game Design and Best G


On a slightly cheerier note, Galactic Cafe's funny and cerebral indie title The Stanley Parable also scored four nominations, as did the dystopian bureaucracy simulator Papers, Please , which is up for a Best Game award. Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V isn't lagging too far behind, with a respectable nine nominations in categories including Best Game, Best British Game, Best Performer (for Steven Ogg, who voiced Trevor) and Game Innovation. As further evidence the writers probably bit off more than they could chew this week, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is also shot in the chest by Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) this episode, leaving him clinging to life until Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) regained his speed with an injection of 'Velocity 6' and removed the bullet.
